Music Ministry
"Sing praise to the LORD, you His godly ones, And give thanks to His holy name." Psalm 30:4
How Can I participate?
There are various ways to participate in the music ministry at SHBC. One way is through regular worship attendance, adding your voice to the assembly of the saints in song. This is participation at the most basic level, but it is also the most vital.
In addition to congregational singing, consider one of the following:
SHBC Sanctuary Choir – The Sanctuary Choir is the main vocal ensemble of the music ministry. the Sanctuary Choir exists to glorify God through supporting congregational singing and building up the body through special selections spanning a diversity of styles. The choir is open to church members and attenders of various ages (middle school through senior adult) and musical skills (novice through professional).
SHBC Singers – SHBC Singers is a select group of 8 – 12 vocalists, usually drawn out of the Sanctuary Choir. This ensemble specializes in more challenging literature and participates regularly in special services throughout the church year.
Instrumental Music – The core instrument at SHBC is piano, but there are opportunities for others to join in.
Instrumental Offerings – Consider playing a solo for a Sunday offertory.
Worship Ensemble – Consider joining your talents with others to support congregational singing.
If you have musical ability (or are wanting to grow your skills), let’s talk! We would love to find a place for you to serve musically at Sycamore Hills. Contact Tony at tpursley@shbc.net.
