Giving at Sycamore Hills Baptist Church

Characteristics of Christian giving:

  1. It should be done regularly: 1 Corinthians 16:2—On the first day of every week each one of you is to put aside and save, as he may prosper,

  2. It should be done with liberality: 2 Corinthians 9:6— Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 

  3. It should be done not under compulsion, but cheerfully: 2 Corinthians 9:7—Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

  4. It should be done discreetly: Matthew 6:1-4—1 “Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven. 2 “So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be honored by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

Ways to Give

  1. You can give on-site by depositing your offering in the collection boxes located in the back of the sanctuary, or you can give your offering during the collection time during Sunday morning services.

  2. You may mail a check to the church.

  3. You may also give 0nline by credit card, debit card, or electronic transfer. This convenience allows you to give from anywhere you have internet. You can even give from your mobile phone through the Connect App or text messaging. Simply text “GIVETOSHBC” to 73256 and you will receive a reply supplying a link to the online giving form. We are using Realm as our giving platform. You can even schedule recurring gifts on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, so that you can truly give your “first fruits” from your income.

    Note:

    If you give by credit or debit card, a 2.80% transaction fee is factored into your gift, plus an optional 50 cent flat fee. ACH transfers are charged a 1% transaction fee plus an optional 50 cent flat fee.
